The ancient cult of La Luz, obsessed with prolonging life, is the sworn enemy of the clans that make up the Soul Guide diaspora. Thought to be named for Luz, a small bone in the spinal column argued in Rabbinic tradition to be “immortal” and from which the body will be resurrected or from the legend of the city of Luz where the Angel Of Death was barred from entering. The cult obsessively searches for the secret of eternal life, not in some mythical heaven after death but here on earth. La Luz is heavily involved in the occult, alchemy, science (particularly in ways to keep the body young), and any form of wisdom or power that might prolong members’ lives. To this end, La Luz searches for the original version of the Book of Light which is said to contain the secret of eternal life.
