La Muerte is the soul guide clan that controls much of Central America, Mexico, and parts of the American southwest. Its feud with the Angel of Death clan dates back several hundred years but the relationship between the two clans really soured after the First Organized Synod, when the Reaper Matriarch unexpectedly gave territorial rights to parts of the Southwest to La Muerte instead of the Angel clan.
